La Margherita is the best choice for Italian food that we have found in Southampton. Light and airy, with a good view of the water, friendly efficient service - on our last visit by a tall blond Estonian - and a wide selection of first rate food, you'd find it hard to beat.

La Margherita used to be just up the road from the Gaumont Theatre in Commercial Road. That's going back a long way; that large old picture house is now The Mayflower! Some years back La Margherita moved to Town Quay, so the most convenient way to get there from Arden House is down the hill and cross to Southampton on the Hythe Ferry.
