Turn right out of our front drive and follow signs to Beaulieu past hospital, shops and small roundabout. After about one mile at the large roundabout take the fourth exit singposted A326 Southampton and continue along the straight road for just less than a mile to another roundabout. Take the first exit signposted Lyndhurst. Cross the cattle grid into the New Forest and keep all eyes peeled for animals on the road.

Shortly afterwards, at Ipley crossroads give way to crossing traffic and then carry straight on over the heath for a couple of miles to a T junction. Turn right there, and you'll see the pub just beyond the hotel, before you reach the hump-backed bridge at Beaulieu Road Station.

For immediate refreshment, pull into the small car park in front of the pub, or park on the other side of the road amongst the pine trees.

If you'd like to walk first, drive carefully over the bridge and park in the Forestry Commission car park at Shatterford on the left just the other side of the bridge.
