The pub serves a good selection of the usual baguettes and lite bites; bacon and brie is my husband's favourite. Eat at a table in the bar area or walk through to the back garden which merges with the open forest.
Cask beers and stouts, as well as lagers. Ringwood, Bass and HSB are available and well kept.
They also serve several substantial if rather heavy lunchtime dishes in their restaurant section if you are really hungry, and if the walking boots are hurting and you'd like a little more comfort you could try the Beaulieu Hotel next door.
