The Royal Oak is tucked away in a remote part of the forest. The round trip by car is enjoyable; by bike you have a dy's outing - about fiffty miles of wonderfully varied scenery with several slightly testing sections: low hills and headwinds!

There are two walks we'd recommend: a long one and a short one.

The Royal Oak is busy and small, but there's plenty of space outside with picnic tables and views of fields and oak forest.
