We dined at Salt bar and kitchen last night and thought tonight we would try the Italian over the way - La Vista.
LA Vista was OK, but rather disappointing. For example, the pizzas had far too much cheese: we like cheese on our pizza, but prefer it not smothering everything else.

[English translation . . .
For an Italian restaurant, the choice of pasta and pizza was very limited.
Portions were quite small and not very tasty, lacking spice, having very limited accompaniments.
The welcome was cold and impersonal. The service reminded us of restaurants in a chain, and the dining room was very noisy.
In our opinion the only good thing about this restaurant is its pleasant view over the marina.]
Very friendly and uncomplicated; offers a range of fresh fish, pasta and meat dishes for reasonable money.
When confronted by a request to confirm what might be made available without milk they took great pains to check this for me. When one of us wanted just plain spaghetti with garlic and oil they were also happy to produce this even though it wasn't on the menu.
And of course they had to ask where we were from, to have asked for such a dish in the first place!

Ladies who Lunch have visited La Vista more than once, so it's worth seeing what they have to say about it too.
