Arriving by train
Take the train to Southampton Central. There are direct services from London (Waterloo), the north (Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, York) the midlands (Birmingham New Street), Wales and the West of England (Cardiff, Bristol, Bath, Salisbury) and the south west (Bournemouth and Poole).
From Southampton Central, there are three options: ferry, bus or taxi.
On a sunny day we recommend the Hythe Ferry. It's fun, relaxing, and historic. Kings of England, the Kaiser and Russian Tzars have travelled up Hythe Pier at the other end! Here are the directions if you plan to use the Ferry.
If it's cold or wet, the bus is a more convenient option. The bus takes just half an hour and runs frequetly.
Finally there's the taxi, which will, however, cost about £25.
