This page introduces some of the shopping opportunities in Hythe: the village down the hill from Arden House, with views of ocean liners berthed at Southampton Docks, and a history of invention and engineering - the hovercraft was developed here by Sir Christopher Cockerell, and Lawrence of Arabia worked here on fast patrol boats. You can find most things in Hythe. Search on the Hythe website to find out more, or try some of these shops:
- Madgwick's Fish and Chips
- Waitrose
- GiGi - ladies' fashions
- Kaye's Fashions
- Geoffrey Gook - the man's shop
- Denis Rason Shoes
- Pampurred Pets
- Magpie Gifts
- Chapter One Bookshop
Hythe also has all the major banks, as well as estate agents, travel agents, hairdressers, a picture framing business, cobblers, florists and lots more.
