We have a wide variety of golf courses within reach. Here ia a selection, in order of distance from Arden House:

• Dibden, in the photograph, is less than one mile away: an attractive municipal 18 hole course with good views of Southampton Water; there is a separate small nine-hole course and a 24 hour driving range
• Walhampton, a new, flattish nine-holer with good views of Lymington River
• Lyndhurst: a heathland course, often waterlogged in the winter but enjoyable on hot summer days
• Brockenhurst Manor: challenging, especially for ladies; exclusive and expensive; do phone first to see if they can offer a tee time!
• Romsey: a very attractive course with a hilly front nine: we ladies all use motorised trolleys! The club house is the perfect place for lunch
• Bramshaw has two attractive courses: the Manor Course (par 71) and the heathland Forest Course (par 69)
• Crane Valley: a pretty, challenging course with many water hazards and an excellent clubhouse
