River and sea fishing
Sea fishermen can launch their own small craft from the public slipway at Hythe Marina Village.
Shore fishing is popular from the foreshore at Lepe Country Park. Have coins ready for the car parking meter!
There is coarse fishing in and near the New Forest, as here in the photograph taken at Hatchet Pond just beyond Beaulieu.
The rivers Test and Itchen offer some of the most prized Trout fly fishing waters in the world, set in some of the most picturesque countryside, water meadows, and villages of thatched cottages of England. Such famous fly fishing writers as Halford, Skues and Grey developed the sport to new heights here during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Chalk stream fly fishing can be arranged on the River Test or on the upper reaches of the River Itchen if you are really keen.
