Sailing and boating
Sailors can launch small boats from the public slipway, or moor by arrangement at Hythe Marina Village.
For moorings farther afield, try
Cowes, renowned yachting centre, is accessible easily on foot using the Hythe Ferry to Southampton Town Quay and thence by Red Jet direct to West Cowes
In September of course there's Southampton Boat Show; and Hythe Ferry is definitely the best way to get there.
